And, of course, if you're simply a guidebook junkie, go for it! very easy to follow send city

This book has many inaccuracies and leaves out many good climbs. Pretty poor overall, I would not recommend this book.

Great more/less comprehensive guide to Red Rocks. Since, it covers a wide breadth, expect some Beckey-like descriptions for less popular routes. Also, I found that some ratings differ from consensus on Mtn. Proj.

I got this book for a trip to Red Rock Canyon in March 2007. It was one of two books brought by our party -- the other was Rock Climbing Red Rocks, 3rd. The books varied slightly on route descriptions (three pitches vs. two longer ones), but as always, the guide books were just a guide and actual conditions led us to make some different decisions on the route. The route ratings were very helpful -- there are tons of routes to climb and with only a short trip, we focused on only the top-rated routes, and we were not disappointed!

Gave to our grand daughter and friends for climbing Red Rock near Las Vegas, NV . They absolutely loved it.

This book is missing a few classics, and downgrades a few routes, especially ones that are considered to be the "Old School" grades. I climbed a 5.6 trad warm up that was harder than most 5.8's, every one I talked to said it is an old school rating and should be harder but this book rates it a 5.5. There are some good things to this guide, but I mainly used it to get more beta on a specific route. Seems ever guidebook has a few areas they do better than others, this seems to be my second or third choice for most routes, I usually browse through it in case it has some data the others do not. Find it used or on sale.

This guide book is for sure better than nothing, but it just doesn't seem like the authors were thorough enough. There are better guidebooks available too. Buy the book if it's your only option.

This black-and-white guide was quickly outdone by Jerry Handren's guide: Red Rocks: A Climber's Guide. Check out: [...]If you're looking to boulder in Red Rocks, which isn't covered in either book, check out Southern Nevada Bouldering Southern Nevada Bouldering by Tom Moulin. It's jam packed with color photos and has comprehensive beta for ALL the bouldering in Red Rocks.
