Good book, very easy to read and written in a conversational style. Robertson has written a few articles for American Agent & Broker magazine, and the book has that feel of an expanded article.There are a few drawbacks which were mentioned by another reviewer, but by no means something that makes the book unreadable or worthless. There are some personal stories in the book from the author's life, but those are mostly a sort of color commentary to break up the monotony that insurance books can become. There are definitely valuable pieces in the book; I read it with a highlighter in hand and marked the relevant passages so when I go back to the book I can get right to the specifics. There are more than a few highlights I'll be going back to read at a later date. The chapters about setting salaries, financial information, markets and E&O claims were the most valuable to me.From a technical, insurance industry side this book is meant for a mostly commercial/general lines audience, so if you work in a personal lines brokerage or as a captive agent to one carrier some of the information may not benefit you. If you're looking for very specific organizational charts, position descriptions, etc. you won't find those either. The book is very much a strategic vision of how the agency should run and not a tactical day to day operations manual - you;ll figure that out yourself as you start your own agency.Good book, quick read. If you go into it as getting a chance to have a $10 lunch with an obviously successful Broker that wants to share his story and particular advice, the book is worth the price and you'll get the most out of it.

Immediate observations: After opening the cover you discover this is not a professionally published book, no copyright, no print date. Well, I take that back on the last page of the book was a date about a day after I placed my order when it went to 'press'. After reading the first sentence, you will realize this book was also not edited by a professional. I found the poor writing a distraction from the content. The text on the pages is also double spaced which was odd visually, had wide margins, justified alignment, inconsistent formatting and looked like a high school paper without a conclusion.Cons: I did not find this to be 'nuts and bolts' as stated in the summary of the book. It was more narrative, about his personal story. He was previously in insurance before starting his independent agency and is geared towards commercial policies. This is not for someone who is new to the industry and wanting to start an insurance agency. Some of the lingo and terms were over my head and not explained in the book. Newcomers are not in positions to start indepedent agencies and this does not lend well to those wanting to start an agency as a captive agent, which is what I am looking to do. If you are already in insurance, writing commercial and are thinking of leaving your current agency employment to start your own, you will mostly likely identify much more with the writer than I did and may find it motivational. The book is also much shorter than I expected and can be read in a matter of hours.Pros: The one piece of advice I took away was once your agency reaches a point where you are in a position to buy a building and no longer rent office space, purchase the building in your name and not that of the agency so you can rent the building back to yourself through agency funds.I am clearly not the target market of this book, which is perhaps why it remains self-published due to the narrow audience. (Those already in insurance considering an indy) The author may consider a title change on this book to describe the content more accurately, "When to leave your agency job and start your own independent"

Shameless was so worth the wait and anticipation. Michelle saved the best for the last. With every story in the series Michelle kept on raising the bar and I honestly had high expectations for this story and Michelle didn’t disappoint me she super ceded what I had expected . I literally devoured the story as soon as it was delivered to my kindle. I had received an advance copy from the author literally after shamelessly stalking poor Michelle and she was very sweet to give me the advance copy of this book. I fell so much in love with this story that I had to buy my own copy. It was totally captivating and spectacular journey. It was beyond what I had expected.This story was charged on so many different levels and played with heart and emotions. Rhett’s character had really attracted me from the first scene he was introduced in Heartless and as the series went through I got more and more attracted to his character. He was the joker , flirt and playboy but there was so much more to him. He is hiding behind this facade of being a guy with no moral values who goes through one night stands but his interactions with Evie and also the way he treats Mia and later Danny proves that he is a rare gem . The strong bond between the guys was strong as ever and it was shining out throughout the story. I loved Rhett and Danny’s interactions and bond that was just heart meltingly adorable. The last chapter and epilogue was just fabulously written. Such a perfect ending for this series. I can’t believe this series has ended. Be read to be Rhett-azzled in Shameless. Rhett will totally touch your heart and win you over .I will miss all the characters from this series, definitely one of the BEST Series I read , honestly I enjoyed each and every story of this book and couldn’t say one was better than the other all the books in this series were equally entertaining and engaging. It’s sad to see this series end and say bye to the characters.Michelle talents shines through this series in each and every book with leaps and bonds she is truly a brilliant author. Absolutely Loved Shameless , it’s worth infinite stars rating âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ Would highly recommend this book and series.
I was really looking forward to this final book in the Screw Crew series as I liked the character of Rhett throughout the books. I knew he was a player, but I found this installment made him look like a douche, bordering on a real scumbag. Even the other male characters in the series that had issues and treated women poorly (e.g. Marcus and Carter) were mostly likeable for me. It took me a lot of the book to warm up to Rhett regardless of his good intentions towards Evie, which was disappointing.Rhett gave me the impression that men are pretty superior to women. Not just in the way he treats them as accessories to sleep with, but there were statements like, '...men are stronger for a reason, and it's to protect women and children'. Urgh. If you're that keen on looking after them, treating them like garbage to suit your physical desires probably isn't a great way of showing it, especially as he was one of the ones to come up with the competition to sleep with as many women as possible in college. Apart from going out of his way to look after Evie, I didn't find he was the soft-hearted character he was in the other books, probably because the author spent so much time making him out as a player which made him sound really self-centred. The character development of Rhett and Evie and their relationship was almost non-existent for me.The other reason the book didn't grab me as much is because it skipped quite a bit of time. They were in college getting to know each other and building on their relationship and then suddenly it was two years later, Rhett is still sleeping around with anything that moves and important events that have happened in that two years have been skipped or glossed over. The other books in the series crossed over so key events were seen in the lives of each of the characters. This book didn't do that so all of the other male characters' stories we had become really familiar with were completely ignored - as in, not even mentioned. With the story making the effort to tell the college side of Evie and Rhett's relationship, it would have been nice to have more detail here as well as involving the other characters' stories like the other novels did. This book could almost have been a complete stand alone as it blended in with other enemies to friends books I've read.It followed a similar pattern to the others and was a quick and easy read. I liked how it ended the series as there was enough closure for me - I just didn't like it as much as I thought I would.

I have loved every one of these short, hot reads, but I have to say this last instalment is my favourite...When I started this journey with the Screw Crew I thought they were mostly privileged, arrogant and self opinionated douches....but book by book and character by character they have all shown themselves to be more than the sum of their parts....this book has the most emotional content...I was blown away by the depth and breadth of the feelings that the characters experience and I was transported from sadness to joy in the turn of a page...I am bereft that this is the end of the line... these diverse characters and their stories have been utterly compelling and addictive; I look forward to re-reading them all over again....I received and advanced copy of this book from the author..

But they can't get each other out of their heads.Shameless is a quiet story. There isn't much drama, but at the same time you can taste the characters despair and pain. Both are lonely and unhappy.Shameless is my absolute favorite read in this series. I recommend Shameless and give 5 stars.

I bought this new, and it came out of the package torn apart!
I had to buy this textbook for my nursing assistant class. I assumes you know nothing and proceeds to tell you everything you need to know about being a nursing assistant. It is a great resource!
This order arrived as ordered. I don't believe we are missing any of the books ordered, the first in months of ordering.The books were clean and rather nice. Some of the books in past orders needed a Lysol wipe to use them!

Having read a number of self-help books years ago, I found that most of them said rather little, and of what was said, the books seemed to repeat each other. It took me a long time, but I eventually decided that I would try writing one of my own, but not like the others. In part, I wanted something that I wished I had around when I was in law school, and after. The book had its beginnings in a bunch of back-and-forth emails with law students, from when I started teaching as an adjunct. And the group emails that I sent to students after classes, where I would go off, sometimes into the wild blue yonder, on topics that I found interesting, and hoped that others might find as well. The Education of a Lawyer doesn't cover the entire waterfront, addressing every topic that someone new to legal education needs. I picked and choosed (probably should have written "chose," but I like choosed instead). Other books can give better advice on studying for the LSAT or the bar exam, for example. And I don't write about working in a big law firm, since I've never experienced that. But most attorneys still work in small law firms, and that's been a big part of my experience, and that's included in the book. Gary Muldoon

The signs, some worried and some angry, show the concerns we face as we enter this era of problematic politics. The people's right to peacefully assemble and petition the Government for a redress of grievances is written in the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution. Those politicians who are trying to make such protests illegal and the protesters criminals disregard and disrespect our right to free speech.
This is a wonderful book. It well documents the women's marches that occurred in January 2016 across the world. The pictures are funny, poignant, and memorable. I send a copy to my granddaughter to commemorate our marching. I added my pictures to this book so we have a memory book of the event in Washington D.C.
I participated in the march in DC but didn't take many pictures because it was so crowded. I love the book!! It is organized by themes. The quality of the pictures is excellent as is the quality of the paper used in the book. It is approximately 6" by 8". I've looked through it multiple times and so enjoy the memories every time. In the back of the book there is a list of all the cities in the states and countries around the globe that held marches. I love it!!
I gave one to my daughter and she really liked it. She was able to find a picture including someone she knows. I haven't placed the second one yet.
The book captures the moment. I was at the D.C. March. It was peaceful.Overly crowded yet not stifling. These pictures paint the day perfectly - the faces, the posters, the conversations. I could almost close my eyes and these photographers transport me back to the 21st. Bravo. Spectacular. A must have book for both people who attended and did not attend the March
This is the perfect book to complete your library referencing the Women's March of 2017 along with 'Why I March' and 'Together We Rise'! I highly recommend all three.
I love how positive this book is. Every sign is creative and inspiring. If you didn't march that day, this book will give you a good feel for how cities around the world joined together. If you did march, you'll look through these pages and recognize so many of the amazing people who marched alongside you. I flip through the book often and I discover something new each time. I'm going to buy two more to give to my friends who marched with me.
I was so excited to receive this book. What's better than women coming together en-mass, showing what peaceful demonstration is, and "This is What Democracy Looks Like!" Stand up and be heard is a message we all need, and it's conveyed here.
